Responsible Use Policy (RUP)

Effective Date: July 2024

This Responsible Use Policy(“RUP”) sets forth the rules governing the use of Squarecomm’s services, devices, and networks. It applies to all Squarecomm plans and is an integral part of your agreement with Squarecomm, LLC and its affiliates (“Squarecomm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Use of Squarecomm Plans

Squarecomm provides wireless voice and data services (“Squarecomm Plans”). We reserve the right to monitor usage and enforce restrictions in cases where use is deemed excessive, abusive, or inconsistent with typical consumer behavior. Your use of voice and data must reflect standard consumer usage patterns:

  • Voice: Must be used for typical person-to-person conversations.
  • Data: Intended for personal web browsing, messaging, and similar functions.

Any use that violates this AUP may result in reduced speeds, plan modification, or termination.

2. International Calling

For plans that include international calling, usage is limited to 20 unique international numbers per 30-day period. This limit resets with each new service term or earlier if a new plan is purchased. Refer to the Squarecomm website for specific international service details.

3. Prohibited Uses

Your service may be terminated, suspended, or altered if Squarecomm, in its sole discretion, determines that you are engaging in prohibited activities, including but not limited to:

Commercial Misuse or Network Manipulation

  • Reselling or redistributing Squarecomm service
  • Unauthorized SIM swapping or device modification
  • Use of signal boosters or tethering devices not approved by Squarecomm
  • Using the service to bypass intercarrier compensation or for automated traffic generation

Excessive or Disruptive Usage

  • Abnormally high or long-duration calls
  • Unattended or automated use of data services
  • Continuous streaming, broadcasting, or use of “always-on” connections
  • Machine-to-machine (M2M) or telemetry services
  • Predominantly off-network usage (over 50% for two billing cycles in 12 months)

Fraudulent, Malicious, or Illegal Activity

  • Spamming, phishing, or unauthorized data collection
  • Hosting servers, operating chat lines, or using for telemarketing
  • Violating copyright or intellectual property laws
  • Transmitting malware, launching denial-of-service attacks
  • Harassment, defamation, or impersonation

4. Lawful and Appropriate Use

Your Squarecomm service must only be used for lawful and legitimate purposes. You may not use the service to:

  • Commit or encourage unlawful acts
  • Interfere with the operations of our network or others’ usage
  • Infringe on intellectual property or personal privacy rights
  • Access systems or data without authorization

5. Right to Terminate or Restrict Service

Squarecomm may immediately terminate or restrict service, without prior notice, if we determine you have:

  • Violated this AUP
  • Used the service in a way that compromises our network or business
  • Failed to comply with your payment or usage obligations

6. Monitoring

We reserve the right to monitor network activity and your use of the services to ensure compliance with this AUP. We may block, restrict, or remove content or suspend access if we detect a violation or to protect the integrity of the network.

7. Cooperation with Law Enforcement

If illegal activity is suspected, we may disclose your account and usage information to law enforcement or regulatory bodies. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Communications content and logs
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, and billing details

8. Service Resale and Transfers

You may not resell, transfer, or share your Squarecomm service or allow unauthorized third parties to access or use your account or service features.

9. Device Tampering

Tampering with your device’s software or firmware—including hacking, rooting, or unauthorized configuration changes—is strictly prohibited and may result in service suspension or financial liability.

10. Theft and Unauthorized Use

If you suspect your service or device has been compromised, you must notify Squarecomm in writing immediately. Until we receive notice, you remain responsible for all usage, including unauthorized or fraudulent use.
